Cargo Ballast Handling Simulator for Chemical Tanker

The Cargo Ballast Handling Simulator Course for Chemical Tanker is designed to provide deck officers with the knowledge and simulator-based practical skills required to safely plan, monitor, and conduct cargo and ballast operations on board chemical tankers. The course combines theoretical instruction with intensive simulator exercises covering cargo planning, tank preparation, loading, ballast operations, loaded voyage monitoring, cargo discharge, tank cleaning, ventilation, residue disposal in accordance with MARPOL, and operational debriefing.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this training, the participant shall be able to:

  • Explain the principles and operational requirements of chemical tanker cargo and ballast handling.
  • Prepare cargo plans and conduct cargo operations using a chemical tanker cargo handling simulator.
  • Perform tank preparation, tank washing, inerting, ventilation, and cooling procedures safely and efficiently.
  • Carry out cargo loading, ballast, loaded voyage monitoring, cargo discharge, stripping, and cargo residue disposal in accordance with MARPOL requirements.
  • Monitor cargo operations, identify operational abnormalities, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Demonstrate safe cargo handling practices and effective decision-making through simulator-based operational scenarios.
