This Refresher Course for Advanced Training for Liquefied Gas Tanker Cargo Operations (ATLGTCO) aims to meet the requirement in paragraph 3 of Regulation I/11 which states that “Every master and officer shall be required, at intervals not exceeding five years, to establish continued professional competence for tankers in accordance with Section A-I/11, paragraph 3 of the STCW Code.”
To establish the continued professional competence for seafarers serving onboard tanker vessel, this course is designed to enable the trainees to successfully demonstrate the competences on Refresher Course on Advanced Training for Liquefied Gas Tanker Cargo Operations.
Specifically, at the end of the course the trainee must be able to:
Entry to the course is open to all seafarers who intend to revalidate the Certificate of Proficiency (COP) in Advanced Training for Liquefied Gas Tanker Cargo Operations with immediate responsibility for loading, unloading, care in transit, handling of cargo, tank cleaning or other cargo related operations on liquified gas tankers in accordance with Section B-V/1, paragraph 1 of STCW Code.
They must be medically fit to enable them to participate in all aspects of the training particularly the practical exercises.
