“The water that surrounds us, unites us”
The Philippine nation and the rest of the world joins the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in marking the World Maritime Day 2017. This year’s theme of connecting ships, ports and people highlights the importance of working together to develop a strong, stable and sustainable maritime sector. The theme also focuses on the importance of facilitating marine transportation, promoting navigational safety and protecting the marine environment.
The event held at The Tent Forum, PICC, Pasay City was spearheaded by the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) gathering stakeholders – from maritime training centers, maritime institutions, review centers, maritime organizations, shipyard associations, shipbuilding companies, healthcare providers, manning and shipping agencies, seafarer associations, government sectors and the rest of the industry players in one venue.
This day also pays special tribute and recognition to the seafarers, our very own Filipino seafarers for the valuable service they provide to the world at large.
Thank you for all enthused attendees and participants!
See you again next year!
