Philippine Coast Guard has been partnered to COMPASS Training Center, In. to conduct a customized Junior Ship Operational Level Course for its Junior Cadets. The first batch was conducted last April 10, 2018 at COMPASS’ Main Office in Malate, Manila. This initiative was spearheaded by Capt. Giovanni G. Brigantine, PCG, Acting Commander of the Surface Support Force.
This ten-day course, attended by ten (10) participants, made use of the Deck and Engine Facility and had Capt. Franco Soriano and Engr. Joshua Ogot as the Deck and Engine instructor. All the participants were
highly satisfied with the course.
Aside from the Junior Ship Operational Level Course, COMPASS also offered a free Basic Training Course to the participants as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). In appreciation of the service that has rendered for the Junior Ship Operation Level Course Class 08-2018, COMPASS was given a Certificate of Appreciation during the Closing and Convening Ceremony on April 25, 2018 at the Headquarters of the Coast Guard Surface Support Force in Pier 13. It was presented by Acting Commander RADM Rolando D. Legaspi PCG to Capt. Reynald Tacuyan and Engr. John Tianchon.
